November 14, 2013Please plan to join the SLWTA for its very
first meeting in Rockford, IL on the evening
of Thursday, November 14, 2013 for a
Legislative and Economic Update, with a
special emphasis on Asia, to be delivered by a
very special guest, former Congressman Don
Manzullo.
In the last few months, Washington, D.C. has
experienced some of its most dramatic scenes
in recent memory.  At this SLWTA meeting,
you will have the rare opportunity to address
questions to Mr. Manzullo, who until only
recently was "on the inside" in these
Congressional debates.  He will offer his
thoughts on a variety of topics, and will
provide his own take on how recent events in
Washington might affect our business
relationships with our trade partners in the
still-robustly growing Asia-Pacific region. 
Manzullo will also be able to speak directly to
the potential advantages arising for Stateline
businesses from the new Free Trade
Agreement between the U.S. and South Korea.

to be both informative and entertaining.

Don Manzullo is well-known to SLWTA
members and to the Stateline business
community as a long-time supporter of
Stateline businesses in his role as a U.S.
Congressman from the Rockford area. 
While a member of the U.S. House, he served
for many years as the top Republican on the
Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific of the
House Foreign Affairs Committee, and he
chaired this pivotal subcommittee during his
last two years in Congress.  After leaving office
in early 2013, Don stepped into the role of
CEO and president of the Korea Economic
Institute of America.  As he visits SLWTA In
this role, he can offer candid perspectives on
the U.S. economy generally as well as on the
opportunities which exist for small- and
mid-sized Midwestern businesses in the
rapidly expanding Asian marketplace.

Chicken Parmesan, served with mostaccioli,
wild rice and zucchini & squash with plum
